Courses for People with Disabilities: A Step Towards Inclusivity in the Brazilian Job Market

Breaking Down Barriers

According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), around 24 million people in Brazil have some kind of disability. Although the law guarantees their right to work, many people with disabilities face difficulties in finding employment due to a lack of professional training. This is a major concern, as many companies struggle to find specialized labor in certain sectors.

The Need for Inclusive Training

To bridge this gap, the Santa Casa de Misericórdia da Bahia in Salvador, Brazil, is launching a new program to provide training for people with physical or auditory disabilities. The “Professional Training Course for Assistants” aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills to work in administrative positions with basic computer knowledge.

A Course Designed for Inclusion

The program, which will take place from July 16th to August 24th, will be held at the Centro de Desenvolvimento de Pessoas (Cedepe) from 4pm to 6:30pm. The course is free and open to anyone with a disability who is interested in gaining a qualification in administrative assistance.

Eligibility and Requirements

To participate in the course, candidates must submit a copy of their identification card, CPF, reserve certificate, and proof of residence. The goal of the program is to provide individuals with disabilities with a qualification, facilitating their integration into the job market.
